Photo Friday: Busy as Bees

This post continues a series on Fridays as I share a photo from my experience as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Moldova. Enjoy!

My host family has a couple of honey bee hives at their village house which produces honey for us to enjoy all throughout the year. Since they have a number of fruit trees and lots of sunflowers they keep the bees pretty busy throughout the spring and summer. My host dad shared with me more about the process bees go through to collect the pollen and bring back to the hives. The bees would bring back pollen a few different ways, I liked when I could spot the ones bringing the pollen back in little “packages” on their legs or sides, just like the one pictured in the image above. Honey is a product that is produced in Moldova and exported to some international markets.
