A Farewell to February!

Thankfully February is a short month — you see, it kinda has been a bit of a hard month for me. I’m still trying to understand why – perhaps more on that another day. Maybe it has something to do with it being winter and the weather is kinda blah? But here’s a little glimpse through photos of this past month of February for me here in Moldova. It’s been a busy month!

A few youth organized and coordinated a “Freedom Ambassador” training a few weeks ago where they shared information about human trafficking and sent out some new ‘freedom ambassadors’ into the community to create projects to raise awareness of the issue of human trafficking here.

I go to Romanian language tutoring about 3 times a week now -- one day during our tutoring we had a little visit from our tutors cat. Seeing this photo still makes me smile.

It would be snowy and cold one day...
The view from my window on a snowy cold day.
We spent one Sunday afternoon working on setting up an art gallery exhibit I had worked on coordinating with a secondary project. More to come on this one in particular hopefully in the near future. :)

I made a visit to the central piata in search for little clips…it was an unsuccessful trip this time.

This fort can be found in Soroca – a town about 2 hours northeast of Balti. I went for a quick trip one day with my coworkers for a meeting and of course we had to stop and take some photo of the recently renovated fort.

I meet with these amazing girls once a week to work on learning new skills through the Technovation Challenge – improving their English, learning how to create a business plan, and creating & developing a phone app.

A friend recommended I get out and take a walk to get refreshed. I took a little detour on this walk and found this amazing mosaic at the north gara.

We went to a charity concert that was organized by another PCV and a group of youth volunteers at her NGO — we randomly found ourselves backstage during the show and met some of the musicians. And of course it had to be documented.

When we found ourselves backstage at this charity concert for a random-moment, another PCV, Jeff became quite the celebrity with the musicians/celebrities. Just another day in Moldova… you never know what could happen.
