If someone would have told me 5 years ago that I would become a resident of Moldova…first of all I wouldn’t know where it was and secondly I wouldn’t believe them. At that time I had other “plans” and it didn’t involve living anywhere overseas.
Surprise, surprise…and here I am serving with the Peace Corps in Moldova now. It’s really official… I have a residency card, documents and an address. I am a real resident of Moldova. I continue to be amazed at how much life and one’s heart can change over time. For this I am thankful and am so glad I am here.
I have been a bit quiet over the past 2 weeks since we had training in and near the capital, Chisinau. When I wasn’t in training I was busy spending time with my host family, fellow volunteers, and recuperating from being sick. Fun times – there is much to update… stay tuned for fun adventures and photos to come later — a wedding ceremony, a pumpkin festival, a wine festival and some wine making!
